The ECR-oriented International Congress / Convegno Internazionale “Emerging Diplomatic Studies” (EDiS) will take place a the Università degli Studi Aldo Moro on the 30th and 31st of October 2024 (see the CfP here). It is jointly organized by the Università Aldo Moro of Bari, the Università Federico II of Naples, the research center “Notariorum Itinera”, and the research project “Per (ri)scrivere la storia del Mezzogiorno bassomedievale. Forme testuali del potere (secoli XIV-XV)”, with the contribution of the Associazione Italiana dei Paleografi et Diplomatisti, under the patronage of the Commission internationale de diplomatique and of the Museo Diocesano Bari-Bitonto. The 2024 workshop of the Commission internationale de diplomatique takes place in Bonn, and will deal with the subject “Pragmatic Literacy. New Perspectives on Charters and Documentary Practices?”, on the 30th of September and the 1st of October 2024. It is organized by Andrea Stieldorf and hosted by the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn. Please find enclosed its programme.

The French-Austrian ANR-DFG project BeCoRe (Between Composition and Reception: the Authority of Medieval Charters) will hold a workshop in Klosterneuburg (Austria) on May 16th-17th, 2024. The programme and all necessary details are here.

The research Network Diplo21 will hold a conference in Namur (Belgium) on October 10th and 11th, 2024, on the topic The Charter’s Spaces: Spatial and Spatiographic Analyses of Diplomatic Sources, and is inviting young researchers/ECRs to submit their proposals before April 12th, 2024. Please find enclosed the detailed call in French and English; it can also be found in French and German versions on Diplo21’s homepage, as well as more information on this young, international network of researchers.

The Commission Internationale de Diplomatique supports young scholars (before the PhD, or two years after their dissertation), giving a paper on diplomatics at the 2024 International Medieval Congress at Leeds.
The CID will finance two young scholars, giving 500€ to each.
Applications must be sent to the president of the CID, Benoît-Michel Tock (btock@unistra.fr) and to the general secretary, Andrea Stieldorf (andrea.stieldorf@uni-bonn.de) before March 31^st.

La Commission Internationale de Diplomatique soutient les jeunes chercheurs (encore en doctorat, ou ayant soutenu leur thèse depuis moins de deux ans), qui présentent à l’International Medieval Congress 2024 de Leeds une communication centrée sur la diplomatique.

The Aldo Moro University of Bari will host the second edition of the EDIS – International Conference of Emerging Diplomatic Studies on the 30th and 31th of October 2024. The conference is directed towards PhD students and early-career researchers. One prize of 500 € and two of 250 € will be granted to selected presentations, and the speakers will have the opportunity to submit their papers for peer-reviewed publication. Please find enclosed the text of the call for papers in English – Spanish – French – Italian; the deadline for applications is January 31st, 2024.

The next congress of the Commission internationale de diplomatique will take place on September, 20th-22th in Stockholm, at the Swedish national Archives (Riksarchivet); it is organised jointly by the CID, the Centre for Medieval Studies of the University of Stockholm and the Swedish national Archives. Its topic will be “Testaments as Historical Documents”; please find enclosed its detailed programme.
