The Centro Interateneo Notariorum Itinera and the research projects LIMEN – Linguaggi della mediazione notarile (secc. XII-XV) – Seal of Excellence of the Extraordinary Call for Interdepartmental Projects of the State University of Milan 2020 organise the International Conference of Emerging Diplomatics Studies for young diplomatics scholars, in the firm belief that early-stage research projects working on medieval documentary resources can benefit from an international comparison of methods and results and, in the same time, they can also contribute in an essential way to our knowledge of the history of medieval documents.
The aim of the meeting is therefore twofold: to create an opportunity for the dissemination of ongoing researches in the field of diplomatics, and to encourage personal and scientific interactions between established scholars and young researchers from Italy and abroad, belonging to different scholar traditions and operating in different contexts, not least the digital one.
The proposals are expected from PhD students and early-stage researchers under 35 years of age and with a PhD earned not more than 5 years before the appllication. The proposals have to concern topics connected to the study of the medieval documentary resourses.
The proposals should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org, not later than 31th October 2021. Each proposal should contain author’s name, their mail and affiliation (if applicable), a short curriculum vitae (max 500 characters), the title and the abstract of the paper on any field of study of the medieval documents (max 1.000 characters). The paper should be presented in a 20-minutes speech.
The proposals and the speeches should be written and given in one of the following languages: Italian, English, French, Spanish and German. The proposals selected by the Scientific Advisory Board will be announced by 15th December 2021. According to available funds, the organization will cover the accommodation and dinner costs of the speakers on 30th June 2022. Travel expenses will be covered by the speakers.
The papers submitted for publication will be subject to evaluation by the Scientific Advisory Board and of two blind peer-reviewers and, if eligible, they may be published in an open access issue among the publications of the Centro Interateneo Notariorum Itinera.
