The 15th International Congress of Diplomatics / XVe Congrès international de Diplomatique will be held at Leipzig (Germany) from October 4th to October 6th, 2018, under the title Sources for the History of “International” Relations between Political Centres in Europe and the Mediterranean (ca. 800–1600): Letters – Charters – Treaties.

The venue will be the Sächsische Akademie der Wissenschaften zu Leipzig, Karl-Tauchnitz-Str. 1, 04107 Leipzig.

French, German, and English versions of the programme are available on the dedicated homepage, as well as all necessary details for, especially for the (compulsory) registration, for which the deadline is September 15th, 2018.

The Institut für Mittelalterforschung der ÖAW, the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen and the Stiftsarchiv St. Gallen will hold a conference in Rome on the 18-20 April 2018: Atti privati e pratiche documentarie nel lungo X secolo / Actes privés et pratiques documentaires: le long Xe siècle / Privaturkunden und Dokumentationspraxis im langen 10. Jahrhundert / Private Charters and Documentary Practice in the Long 10th Century (ca. 870-ca.1030). Please find enclosed its programme, complete with all necessary details.

The “technical” Colloquium of the Commission for 2017 will take place in Strasbourg (France), on the 30th and 31st of March. Its main topic will be: Pushing Boudaries in Diplomatics. Why Expand the Range of the Activities of the CID?

Voici, publié avec un retard dont nous nous excusons (la publication est antidatée pour des raisons d’ordre des billets), un bref compte rendu du colloque technique 2014 de la CID, rédigé par Sébastien Barret et Adam J. Kosto. Nous restons bien entendu à l’écoute de vos commentaires, suggestions et corrections.

Le colloque technique 2014 de la Commission internationale de diplomatique s’est déroulé à Gand les 25 et 26 avril, à l’invitation de Thérèse de Hemptinne et Marc Boone, au Stadsmuseum Gent, la partie réservée se déroulant à la faculté de Lettres et Philosophie de l’Université de Gand. La première des deux journées, la partie publique de l’événement, fut consacrée spécifiquement à La diplomatique des frontières et l’extension des activités de la CID. Il s’agissait, dans le contexte d’études historiques se faisant de plus en plus globales, de présenter une réflexion à partir de quelques cas concrets sur les possibilités offertes à cette même « diplomatique des frontières ». Ceci devait notamment mener à des interrogations de nature méthodologique, et permettre d’entamer un cycle et une réflexion de plus longue haleine dans le cadre des activités de la CID. The XIVth International Congress of the Commission internationale de Diplomatique will be held in Rome, at the École française de Rome and at the Sapienza-Università di Roma, on the 10th and 11th September 2015. It was organised by Cristina Mantegna (Sapienza-Università di Roma) and Olivier Poncet (École des chartes, Paris), and its subject will be: I documenti del commercio e dei mercanti tra medioevo e età moderna (XII-XVII sec.) / Les documents du commerce et des marchands entre Moyen Âge et époque moderne (XIIe-XVIIe siècle).
